WELCOME TO THE
RTVF 215 WEB SITE!

Taking this course in announcing for radio and TV represents that you have an interest in pursuing a career in this field, or are taking this for a better comprehension of what takes place behind the scenes in broadcasting voice work.

You will obtain a high level of understanding of what it takes to make it in this business through "real-world" exercises and projects that will be completed throughout the semester.

The goal you should have embarking on a career in radio and/or TV is one of having fun.  However, this class will also stress the 'serious' side of this business, one in which expects punctuality and a good attitude to succeed.

Other attributes to help you succeed include being a team player, adapting to change quickly, getting the job done right, and understanding there are no guarantees in the broadcasting business.

This class will give you the necessary tools to fully grasp what it takes to make it in this business.  Through lectures, class projects, and outside activities, students learn the necessary requirements to become a professsional announcer working in radio or TV.

In addition to announcing exercises, students will learn the importance of microphone techniques, and how to use the mic as a 'tool' to enhance the voice to create different 'reads' on the same material.

After completing this couse, students leave with a broad knowledge of announcing skills, and what it takes to be successful in the broadcasting industry.
